GENERAL

The Thinklum Terms and Conditions and the Thinklum Privacy Policy, govern the agreement between you and Thinklum.

 

Terms

By accessing this web site, you are agreeing to be bound by these web site Terms and Conditions of Use, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site. The materials contained in this web site are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.

 

Services

Thinklum (“Thinklum”, “we”, “us”, “our”, "Company") provide various services with main focus on K-12 online and face to face coding, robotics, creative and innovative thinking, technology, art classes, STEAM competitions.

 

Enrolment

When enrolling your child into our STEAM program, you agree on the Terms and Conditions listed below.

 

Re-Enrolments

You will receive the first email notification that your child’s enrolment is coming to an end around 3 weeks before your child’s last session.

The second email reminder will be then sent 5 working days prior to the last session.

 

Collection of Personal Data

You agree we are collecting some basic personal data including email address, phone number and name.

This information may be used for the following purposes:

  • emergency contact details,
  • marketing and promotions purposes,
  • sharing updates on programs, discounts and new services.

 

Payments​

Enrolments will not be accepted without payment.

When not paid, we are not able to guarantee availability of place for your child.

If you are not able to pay on time but wish to be enrolled into the program, please, contact us hi@thinklum.com to discuss available options.

 

Refunds

You can get a full refund without penalties or fees:

When cancelling enrolment earlier than 7 business days before the start of the first class or online session. If you notify us later than 7 business days, we will refund you the following amounts (6 business days - 90%, 5 business days - 70%, 4 business days - 60%, 1-3 business days 50%).

Inability to attend 50% of physical classes due to a medical condition (medical certificate required).

 

Classes and Services Cancellations

We reserve the rights to cancel the classes at any time. In case we cancel the classes, we will notify you beforehand and refund the cost of cancelled session/sessions.

 

​​Terms and Conditions Changes

We reserve the right to update and change the rules and conditions at any time. The changes become effective immediately after publishing them on our web site. To ensure you are aware of the rules and conditions, please, check them regularly.

We show the latest update date at the beginning of Terms and Conditions and publish the announcement of change on our News blog feed.

 

Governing Law

Any claim relating to Company's web site, services and products shall be governed by the laws of the State of New South Wales, Australia without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

 

Intellectual Property

Intellectual property within the Course Materials, logos and other information provided to you over the courses is owned by Thinklum. You may not copy, reproduce, modify or adapt any or all of the Course Materials and other items made available to you by Thinklum without the prior written consent of Thinklum.

 

Code of Conduct Violation

If you (your child) violate the Code of Conduct, we reserve the right to immediately remove you from all our courses and programs without any refund.

 

Use of trademarks

As we conduct the courses, we use various technologies and tools. We are not affiliated with any of the listed below companies and organizations whos’ products and trademarks we are using. We are not liable for the services these organizations provide you and their products.

It is your responsibility to make sure you have access to all tools and software required for the course and if it is applicable you will need to pay corresponding fees for using the external tools and software.

Products and service names mentioned below are the trademarks of their respective companies.

RoboRobo, Roblox and their R logo, Robux, Roblox Party Place, micro:bit, Canva, Minecraft, Minecraft Education Edition, Zoom.

Facebook, the Facebook and F logo, FB, Face, Poke, Wall, and 32665 are trademarks of Facebook.

FACE TO FACE CLASSES (or in campus classes)

 

Laptops/tablets

We do not provide laptops. Make sure you have your own laptop. This is due to the safety and hygiene reasons. We may provide spare device only for a single face to face class.

 

Parent/Guardian presence in a class

The access to the premises is restricted to conform with the safety.

You may only stay in a classroom to help your child or support him/her only in case they need assistance due to health, behavioural or developmental conditions. However, due to NSW regulations you need to obtain Work With Children Check (WWCC). Please, do it beforehand as we won’t allow you to stay in the classroom unless you present your Id and a valid WWCC certificate.

 

Safety and Health

Due to the safety reasons ensure your child has no flu like symptoms or running nose before you attend a physical class. To ensure our environment is safe for both students and teachers, we will not allow a student to attend a class if he/she shows any flu like symptoms or has a running nose.

Make sure your child washes hands before and after the attendance of the class.

Please, ensure your child has a small snack (such as a piece of fruit, muesli bar, water) to eat before the class (if needed).

In case your child has a medical condition, please, ensure you have informed us of any special requirement.

​We carry no responsibility for any injury, death, loss or damage to the student's personal belongings during a class. Parents/guardians understand and are fully aware of the risks associated with their child participating in the activities and won't suit, proceed, demand compensation of costs and expenses which may be taken or made against Thinklum and Thinklum staff.

 

Robotics Safety Rules

If you are enrolled into Robotics Class or Workshop, please carefully read safety rules with a child.

Permission to walk home

Parent/guardian has to sign a permission to walk. Your child will stay in the classroom under our supervision if permission is not signed on.

 

Absence

If you know your child is going to be absent for any reason, please, call our office, send a text message or email us with student’s name, class, location, contact number, date/dates of absence.

Drop-off/pick up procedure

If your child is not a student of school where we are running our classes then drop off is required.

Please, pick up your child on time.

Please, sign out your child before and after the lesson.

Late pick up charges apply 10$ for every 10 minutes.

 

Punctuality

Starting on time is important. It allows an educator to fully explain the session to the whole group  and increase the time the educator can spend providing feedback and answering questions.

Saturday 9.30am – 1.00pm

Sunday Closed

 

​Respectful behaviour

Please, talk to your kids and explain we expect them to respect our teachers and other students. Bullying is not allowed in any form and we hold the right to cancel the rest of the session with no refund due to bullying and inappropriate and not respectful behaviour.

Please, familiarise yourself with our Code of Conduct. It forms essential part of these Terms and Conditions.

 

​Photos and Videos

We may take pictures and record videos during the lessons. We may use them for promotional purposes, on our web site and social networks, our news and blog publications.

If you do not want to give us a permission to use any of the materials with your child, please, inform us in a written signed form and either bring it into a face to face class or send us a digital copy to hi@thinklum.com.

 

ONLINE CLASSES

 

Online Video Sessions Rules

Please, follow the below rules as they are important:

  1. Child must turn on his/her Camera and Microphone (Audio) at the beginning of every session. It is required for safety reasons.
  2. Child must turn on her/his Camera Microphone (Audio) at when needs to ask a question and when we run a group discussion.
  3. There should be no other people present or seen on child’s screen when camera is on. There are exceptions when you need to help your child with the first set up. In all other cases, when you need to be present to assist your child, please, contact us and let us know beforehand (hi@thinklum.com).
  4. We may mute a child when a tutor explains material.
  5. Chat is used by a tutor and students to collect questions without disturbing a tutor going through material. When a tutor finishes with theoretical part, he/she will read comments/questions and will be able to allocate time on answering questions and assisting students if needed.
  6. Please, explain to your child he/she will be assisted. Remind about taking turns and being patient and respectful while waiting for assistance.

 

Creation and use of accounts on online/web platforms.

Children are not able to open accounts online themselves as per policy of most of online/web platforms. Parents need to create required accounts for their children before the sessions start.

Thinklum are providing with instructions on how to use various tools and platforms online. Only parents are responsible for supervising their kids when they create and work on these platforms.

 

Online Learner Safety

Thinklum educators teach how to use various services. It is responsibility of parent/guardian to set required safety filters on your computers and other devices. We are not liable for any exposure to unwishful or harmful content on your computers and devices.

Please, make sure you set up all devices properly and safely for your child.

 

Online content/materials copyrights

Thinklum only teaches how to use various materials, services and tools available on internet. It is a responsibility of a parent/guardian to control what materials (for example, music, images, etc) your child is using when he/she works on their project. These materials could be a subject to copyright and you are personally liable for their use.

 

Class Recordings

Classes that take place through online video. We are recording every session for safety reasons.

Thinklum retains online class recordings for six months after the date of the applicable class, after which they are deleted. By using the services, you consent to you and/or your child appearing in class recordings for the limited purposes set forth above.

COVID-19

I acknowledge that this event/activity is required to be held in accordance with any current NSW Health COVID-19 Public Health Orders and the NSW Department of Education’s policies and procedures. I acknowledge and accept that there is a risk that my child may be exposed to COVID-19 whilst attending and participating at this event. I confirm that my child will not attend if displaying any symptoms of illness, and/or if directed to isolate under public health orders.
