What are critical thinking and creative thinking for kids

Creative and critical thinking became buzzwords in the educational space however not many know and understand the difference. While schools and teachers all want to produce critical thinkers and creative thinkers, very few actually do something purposefully to achieve this. It is even harder for parents to understand what exactly their kids need to learn and focus on to succeed.

Critical thinking is a self-guided and self-disciplined process of finding reasons at the highest quality and best way. Children critical thinkers are able to focus on a problem, learn if it is required to understand the problem better, commit to think logically and not to accept quick conclusions and obvious solutions. This type of thinking requires to be able to look at things without a bias and be able to refuse existing dogmas, challenge existing theories and concepts if this is required.

Creative thinking is a linked to innovation, imagination and synthesizing. Creation process is the process of bringing something new. It can be a new product, new solution of a problem, new process, new idea. People used to think you can only be born creative. However, many studies show you can learn creative thinking and the best time to start learning it is at kids age.

What’s more important is that both critical thinking and critical thinking are two powerful abilities or skills that work better together.

To learn these skills you may enrol your child into our weekly online or face-to-face “TRIZ for Kids Creative Thinking and Problem Solving” program.
